about

Young adult half-orc druid on a self-imposed quest to pet every dog. 18 years old; orcish ancestry means she ages a little faster than a full human and appears to be in her early-mid twenties. 6'2", wirey/muscular build, brown hair and eyes, greenish cast to her skin. Freckles.

personality

Generally cheerful and friendly, can be a little overbearing. She's somewhat sheltered and aware of it, and is eager to learn more about the world. Often feels awkward and out of her element in large crowds or urban environments. Equally comfortable around humans and orcs, but most at ease with others of visibly mixed ancestry (including those of other hybrid parentage than human/orc). Sensitive about anti-orc prejudice, especially the kind that would lead people to speculate about the circumstances of her own birth. Prefers practical/survival-focused spellcasting to combat magic. More sensible than she is clever. Likes animals, especially dogs and goats.

history

Mhara spent her early childhood with her mother's people, a mostly peaceful clan of semi-nomadic orc goatherds. When Mhara's smaller stature and slower growth than her fully-orc peers began to interfere with her ability to keep up with them, her mother arranged for her to go and study with a half-elf druid who tended a shrine at the edge of the clan's territory. She quickly proved to be a dedicated if not particularly bright student, and took to druidic path with enthusiasm. Mhara remains in occasional but positive contact with her orc family and with the nearby human settlements, but at this point her strongest "family" relationship is with her teacher.

As said teacher is something of a hermit, he's encouraged her to travel on her own for a while, to learn more about the world beyond the forests and highlands where she grew up. Mhara's discoveries thus far can be mostly summed up as: the ocean is big, there are far more dogs and dog-adjacent animals to pet than she could have dreamed, and girls are, like, super pretty.
